If you’re sourcing from Alibaba and shipping into the EU, July 1 2026 is a date you need to know.

The EU is ending the €150 VAT exemption (de minimis) on July 1. After that date, every single parcel coming from outside the EU — including your Alibaba shipments — will need a formal customs declaration.

But the customs part is just the beginning. What most sellers don’t realise is that the products themselves also need to be compliant before they even reach customs:

•	CE marking (if your product is electronics, toys, machinery, PPE etc.)

•	GPSR documentation (EU General Product Safety Regulation, mandatory from Dec 2024)

•	An EU Importer of Record on the label

•	A Declaration of Conformity

•	Correct HS code for duty calculation

If your supplier says “don’t worry, we handle compliance” — ask them to send you the actual Declaration of Conformity and technical file. Most can’t.

I’ve been building a tool that checks all of this automatically. Happy to answer EU compliance questions here regardless — just tell me what product you’re sourcing and I’ll tell you exactly what you need.

Struggling to get users to validate my app – anyone else? Here’s what I’m doing about it.

Built Certo (getcerto.app) over the past few months. It’s an AI compliance tool for Amazon FBA sellers importing into the EU – covers CE marking, GPSR, importer labels, HS codes, customs prep, all of it. There’s a real deadline driving urgency: the EU is ending the €150 VAT exemption on July 1, 2026, which means every parcel from outside the EU will need formal customs clearance from that date. Sellers who ignore this are going to get shipments blocked.

Product is live. The problem I’m solving is real. But I’m hitting the classic early-stage wall: not enough users coming through to validate which tools are actually working and which are confusing.

What I’ve tried: Reddit posts in FBA communities, warm outreach to freight forwarders, a live demo call with a logistics partner in China.

What I haven’t cracked yet: Getting cold strangers to care enough to try it.

If you’re building something in compliance, logistics, or anything touching Amazon sellers or EU imports – I’d love to swap feedback. I’ll try your product seriously if you try mine.

And if anyone here has cracked early user acquisition for a niche B2B tool, genuinely curious what worked.
