Trying to find stashes but dont know how far out to be on a diagonal highway to find big stashes. Any thoughts?

Is there actually anything good for travel or basehunting or pvp or is it just like a cool thing to have? While we are on the subject of movement tho is ebouncing capped at 40 blocks per second and is there a faster movement for highway movement?
