I got tired of AI chat apps that felt weird or fake, so I started building my own

I kept downloading AI chat apps and deleting them a day later.

Most of them felt either:

  • too robotic
  • weirdly oversexualized
  • or emotionally fake in a way I couldn’t really explain.

What I actually wanted was something simpler:
an AI that feels like a warm, funny friend you can talk to late at night when your brain won’t slow down.

So I started building it.

I’m not a coder — I’ve basically been using AI tools to build the whole thing, which has been equal parts exciting and chaotic.

It’s called Lumi.

The first landing page just went live this week, and now I’m trying to figure out whether this idea actually resonates with other people too.

Would you ever use an AI mainly for comfort, conversation, or just unwinding a bit at night?

Hey r/dividends!

One thing that always annoyed me about dividend trackers is they spread payments evenly across 12 months — which is completely wrong. KO doesn't pay every month, it pays in January, April, July and October.

So I put together the actual payment months for the 30 most held dividend stocks here:

Ticker Company Frequency Pays in
KO Coca-Cola Quarterly Jan/Apr/Jul/Oct
JNJ Johnson & Johnson Quarterly Mar/Jun/Sep/Dec
MSFT Microsoft Quarterly Mar/Jun/Sep/Dec
PG Procter & Gamble Quarterly Feb/May/Aug/Nov
MO Altria Quarterly Jan/Apr/Jul/Oct
T AT&T Quarterly Feb/May/Aug/Nov
VZ Verizon Quarterly Feb/May/Aug/Nov
MAIN Main Street Capital Monthly Every month
O Realty Income Monthly Every month
ABBV AbbVie Quarterly Feb/May/Aug/Nov

(I'll add more in the comments if there's interest)

I built this list while working on a side project — a dividend tracker that actually uses the real payment months instead of guessing. Happy to share more if anyone's curious.

What stocks am I missing from this list?Hey r/dividends!

Hi r/dividendgang

I want to share a tool I built for dividend investors: DividendIQ (dividendiq.org)

The problem I was solving:

Tracking dividends in Excel is painful. Prices go stale, dividend dates are wrong, and there's no easy way to see "if I keep investing $500/month, what will my income be in 10 years?"

What DividendIQ does:

Tracks your dividend portfolio with live prices

Shows a month-by-month dividend income calendar

Forecasts portfolio value and dividend income up to 25 years

Compares your dividend yield vs S&P 500

Research tool for finding high-quality dividend stocks

It's free for up to 10 positions. Pro plan (€9.99/month) unlocks unlimited positions, full research, charts, and 25-year forecasts.

Not trying to sell anything here — genuinely want feedback from investors on what would make this useful for you.

Try the demo (no account): dividendiq.org

Hey r/passiveincome!

I built DividendIQ (https://dividendiq.org) — a free web app for people building passive income through dividend investing.

The feature I'm most proud of: the 25-year income forecast. You enter your stocks, set your expected dividend growth and monthly contributions, and it shows you year by year how your passive income compounds.

It's free for up to 10 positions. No account needed for the demo.

Would love feedback from this community — you know passive income better than anyone!

Hey r/microsaas,

Built and launched my first MicroSaaS in the last few weeks. Sharing the honest numbers and learnings.

**What I built:**
BaccaratEdge — a web-based Baccarat tracking and strategy tool. Players use it at the casino table to track results, automate betting calculations and manage their bankroll.

**Tech stack:**
- Pure HTML/CSS/JS
- Netlify (free tier)
- Stripe for payments
- Netlify Functions + Brevo for automated emails
- Netlify Blobs for access code storage

**Business model:**
Free tier + Premium (€4.99/month, €29.99/year, €59.99 lifetime)
Fully automated: purchase → webhook → code generated → email sent → premium unlocked

**Month 1 numbers:**
- 4 paying customers
- 3000+ Reddit views
- 25 SEO blog articles live
- Google indexing started

**What worked:**
- Reddit "I built this" posts
- Automating everything from day 1
- Niche focus — less competition

**What didn't work:**
- TikTok removed video (gambling content)
- Several subreddits delete posts automatically

**Biggest challenge:**
Marketing gambling-adjacent content without getting banned everywhere.

Happy to answer any questions!

Hey r/roastmystartup,

I play Baccarat regularly and kept running into the same problems — losing track of my betting sequence mid-shoe, doing mental math for Fibonacci at the table, and having no idea what my actual P&L was until I left.

So I built BaccaratEdge — a free web-based tracker that runs directly in the browser. No download, no App Store, works on iPhone and Android.

**What it does:**
- Records results and gives pattern-based recommendations after each hand
- Automates betting systems (Fibonacci, Grand Martingale, Paroli, D'Alembert)
- C2Bet4 mode — automatically tracks trigger pairs and sequences
- Live bankroll tracking with session graph
- Stand By mode for joining mid-shoe
- Bead Plate and Big Road scorecards
- Stop-loss and take-profit alerts
- 5 languages (EN, DE, ZH, PT, JA)

**Business model:**
Free tier with basic features. Premium at €4.99/month, €29.99/year, or €59.99 lifetime.

**Current state:**
Live at baccaratedge.casino. A few paying customers. Just launched.

**What I'm struggling with:**
- Marketing — hard to promote gambling-adjacent tools (Reddit keeps deleting posts)
- Conversion — lots of free users, few upgrades so far

Genuinely open to harsh feedback. What's broken, what's missing, what would make you pay?

Been playing Baccarat seriously for a while now and kept running into the same problem — mid-shoe I'd lose track of where I was in my betting sequence, forget what step I was on in Fibonacci, or just make emotional bets because I had no structure.

So I spent a few months building a web-based tracker that runs directly in the browser on my phone. No download, no app store.

What it does:

- Tracks results and gives pattern-based recommendations

- Calculates your next bet automatically (Fibonacci, Martingale, Paroli, D'Alembert)

- C2Bet4 mode built in — tracks your trigger pairs and sequences automatically

- Live bankroll tracking so I always know where I stand

- Stand By mode for joining mid-shoe

It's free to use. I also wrote some strategy guides if anyone wants to read about C2Bet4, the Mirror strategy, bankroll management etc.
