Raye, this music may contain hope

I hadn't really heard Raye before and then they played a song on the radio and I was hooked. I went and bought the most expensive concert tickets I ever bought for her upcoming tour. I have been waiting for the family to be out for the night so I could give the album a proper listen. First thing I noticed was that I could really crank up my amp. I rarely go above "40" but good lthos album is recorded with of dynamic range and maybe on the quieter side. As well as her voice she's known for her production and it shows. It's refreshing being able to hear every word, every nuance and sound clearly and cleanly. It's one album I wish I could hear on a really huge sound system. time to go an audition some ridiculous speakers at my local hifi store. Great contrast between huge orchestral moments and quiet spoken voice and jazz club vibes.

I think this could make a great audio reference album

What are your thoughts. I would be interested in seeing a sound wave analysis to see what the dynamic range actually is.

Amex loyalty gifts, are they still happening?

A few years ago I opened some junk mail, one was a large thick envelop from American Express. It stated there was a gift inside. I was sceptical but it was $150 gift voucher for L'Oreal cosmetics. As a guy I don't have that much use for such a thing, but I realised it was a real bonafide no string gift card. There wasn't much on offer that was less than $150 but I ended up with some fancy eye cream which was actually more pleasant than expected. The next year I got $150 gift voucher for high end steak, the next year it was fish. By this time I look forward to my Amex gift (as long as I keep spending!), but I have not received anything, which is strange because I think I have spent more this year than others. I put EVERYTHING on the Amex and pay it off every month so no interest payments. I wondered if maybe they were cutting back on these incentives. Of course they are really just promotions for the sponsoring companies, but they were worthwhile enough that I appreciated them and being an Amex member. This is for a blue cash preferred. Is anyone else still getting these gifts? Are they customised to each individual or all the same?
