Planting Mexican evening primrose

hoping some of you gardeners can advise me. I picked up a pack of Mexican evening primrose because it says it’s drought tolerant and can help with soil erosion (I live on a sandy hill) but my search says it’s invasive but not everywhere.

last thing I want is an ice plant debacle or a bamboo or mint situation. any feedback on this one from experience here?
