I’m planning to take MATH 300 soon and wanted to get a realistic idea of what to expect.

How different is it from classes like Calc III, Diff Eq, or Linear Algebra? I’ve heard it’s more proof-based, but how steep is that transition if you’ve mostly done computational math so far?

Specifically:

• How difficult are the exams/homework?
• Is the grading strict on proofs?
• What kind of time commitment are we talking per week?
• Any professors you recommend (or avoid)?

Also, if you’ve taken it, what do you wish you did differently before or during the class?

I’m currently a sophomore and plan to apply may 2028. I’m unsure when to start studying for MCAT. Is right now considered too early? Only reqs I have left are organic chemistry 2 and biochem which I’ll be taking next semester.
