Day 15 Revision #3: Finally got the straight profile I’ve wanted for 11 years. How do I keep it this way? (Thick Skin)
I am 15 days post-op from my 3rd surgery. My first was in 2016, and my second was in 2023. I spent over a decade so self-conscious that I used to cover my nose with my hand when people walked by.
This surgery was a refinement. My surgeon rasped the bridge and removed a lot of internal scar tissue to finally get this straight profile. Because I have thick skin and this is my 3rd time, I am terrified of scar tissue (pseudo-hump) coming back and ruining this line.
What I’m doing now:
• Taping 24/7.
• Taking BPC-157 and Serrapeptase for healing/scarring.
• Using a nasal trainer and sleeping upright.
Questions for the thick-skin/revision crew:
- What else did you do to help the skin "shrink-wrap" to the new bridge?
- Did you get Kenalog (steroid) shots early on to prevent thickening?
- How long did you stay on a strict taping schedule?
I’m finally happy with my profile, but I’m nervous about the "memory" of my skin. Any advice to keep it smooth and straight is appreciated!
