The time I rescued a confused crow in a Buccees

Just found this subreddit and it made me remember something that happened to me like 4 years ago.

I was a zookeeper, a bird keeper to be exact. My friend and I went to a buccees for fun (he is obsessed with buccees). On the way out, there was a bunch of chaos in the entryway, people were screaming and trying to shoo away a juvenile (I think) crow.

It was obvious the little guy hit the window pretty hard trying to get out and was a little dazed and confused. Trying over and over again to get away from the people and get out. Open mouth breathing. When I realized what was going on, I ran inside and grabbed a random shirt, and told people to back off. I tossed the shirt on him, scooped him up and escorted him outside. I checked to make sure he wasn’t broken and let him chill out in the shirt for a bit before letting him go.

To this day, whenever I go there, I think about the little guy and hope he told his friends I was a good one. Anyway, here’s a post rescue picture. I took it right before letting him go.

Deathly afraid of *checks notes on hand*

….boiling water?? If she so much as senses the vibe that you could maybe put a pot of water on the stove to boil, she shakes, whines, and requires her emotional support Ugg blanket and snuggles.
