Hi everyone! I’m looking for some guidance regarding scholarship opportunities. I want to make sure I’m exploring every possible avenue for the upcoming academic year. Here is my current situation and a couple of questions I want to raise:

Current Academic Standing:

  • Major: Incoming 2nd Year Bachelor of Science in Accountancy.
  • Performance: I successfully maintained President’s Lister status during both the 1st and 2nd Semesters of my freshman year.

The Situation:

I heard there is a President’s Lister Scholarship, how true is that? Since I am interested in applying if ever there is one.

  • Does anyone know the specific criteria or the step-by-step application process for this?
  • If you’ve been a recipient, is it automatically applied or offered to you, or is there a separate set of forms to submit? And where to submit?
  • Are there specific grade requirements (GWA) or "no grade below " rules that needs to be maintained that I should be aware of?

Sibling Policy Constraints:

My sister is also an incoming second year Nursing student and is already a GIA scholar. We were informed that siblings are not allowed to be under the same scholarship program. Because of this, I cannot apply for GIA.

  • Aside from the Jubilee, Working, and GIA grants, are there other internal university scholarships available for someone with my grades? Since I cannot apply for both the Jubilee and Working Scholarship considering my program.

External Opportunities:

I am also looking for external partners, foundations, or government programs affiliated or recommended by the university.

  • Most posts I see (like CHED) seem to be for incoming freshmen.
  • Does anyone know of external scholarship providers (private foundations or government grants) that specifically accept applications from incoming 2nd-year students?

I would appreciate any leads or experiences you can share! Thank you so much for the help.
