The new Steam controller is literally already having a meltdown. Why the $99 Steam Controller is 2026’s must-have gear

The new Steam controller is literally already having a meltdown. Why the $99 Steam Controller is 2026’s must-have gear

If you were fortunate enough to get your hands on a brand new Steam Controller, I would recommend putting its weight to the test immediately (if you can). It has been officially verified that this controller plays the legendary Wilhelm scream when dropped. While some users thought that their controller was a joke, testing has shown that all it takes is a sudden fall (even onto a soft surface) to activate the most iconic sound effect from film history.

Despite all of the posts and memes on social media about the screams; this piece of hardware is very much real and should be considered a serious piece of equipment:

  1. Out of Box Plug & Play Excellence: IGN is raving about how well it works right out of the box for both PC and desktop applications
  2. Tinkerer’s Paradise: The level of deep customization available for button mapping and touchpad controls is still unrivaled.
  3. Clever Design: It even has a "Scream Cool Down" built-in to allow for maximum quietness during a tumble down a flight of stairs

Unfortunately, it's SOLD OUT everywhere. Scalpers are asking more than $200; Valve is working quickly to restock their inventory. One thing is for certain; with its pro-grade features and its hidden comedic appeal, everyone wants to get their hands on one!

Could Apple’s iPhone for the 20th anniversary represent the transformation we’ve always sought throughout the past two decades?

We're hearing a lot of whispers about Apple's next generation iPhone (September 2027) and the expectation that it will be a significant step forward compared to previous versions (including iPhone 10). What we're really talking about is an all-new experience, starting with all-new materials and components; in particular the materials used for both the outer shell and the display will be quite different than what we see today in currently available products.

Here are some of the features we expect to see on Apple's next generation iPhone:

- "Seamless" glass design. We love this approach for the visual appearance of the product. Imagine a glass edge that forms a complete circle around the face of your new device.

- "Zero" bezels. Based on early development prototype models, it appears that Apple's high-quality display will have almost no borders at all and a very thin-for materials band around the button areas.

- No cut-outs. Apple is attempting to create what they call a "perfect slab," with no visible camera hole or Face ID sensor, which means no visible front-facing camera cut-outs.

If you're not able to wait until 2027 to get your hands on an iPhone, there are still major developments taking place in 2026. This year is expected to be when Apple will be releasing its first-ever foldable iPhone, and all indications are that if your current device isn't dead by then, the next 24 months are going to change the landscape of smartphones entirely!

Apple Maps is launching ads on iPhone soon | Will ads ruin the Apple Maps experience, or is this the ultimate tool for local businesses? 🤔

After updating to iOS 26.5, you’ve likely noticed a pop-up announcement regarding the introduction of advertising in Apple Maps. Apple has decided to begin serving ads through Apple Maps in the US and Canada this summer.

Apple is offering businesses a new way to gain visibility, but will do so while being very deliberate to keep your experience as a user first and foremost, Here are the changes you need to know:

  • Where will ads be located? You won’t see ads everywhere in Apple Maps. Ads will appear in two specific areas: (1) at the top of search results and (2) in the Suggested Places panel.
  • What will the ads look like? Apple design has integrated branded subtle blue backgrounds with an “Ad” tag on all ads.
  • Is my data being collected? Apple is committed to keeping your data private. Your location data and clicks are not connected to your Apple Account, and absolutely no personal information you supply to Apple is given to advertisers.
  • Do I have a new way to advertise my local business? Absolutely! You will now be able to directly provide your store or business information to customers who are performing high-intent searches in Apple Maps through the new Apple Business site!

This is a great change that will generate significant new revenue for Apple, without implicating consumers through unwanted tracking.

Your Android-to-iOS bridge is finally here. Here is everything you need to know about Google's new Aluminium OS

A 16-minute video of Google’s secretive project, Aluminium OS, has leaked. The official "Android Show: I/O Edition" is not to air for several hours, but we’ve got an inside look at what’s underneath the hood.

Essentially, it’s a "supercharged Android" on steroids for the big screen, and right now, we see it up and running on MacBook Pro hardware, using emulation/virtualisation. It’s not new, but it does provide a desktop-grade experience.

What’s setting this apart are three game-changer features:

📱A surprising twist : - "Link to iOS" Google is building a bridge to bridge with Apple’s ecosystem in order to help provide seamless cross-platform connectivity.

🖥️ New features to help make your work space more productive and organized like virtual desktops, a dock on the bottom of the screen for your app icons, and compact slide-in Quick Settings from the side of the screen.

🚀 New User Interface: A new layout for your Recent Items view and a dedicated Task Manager for your desktop.

There are still so many “Android” features at play in the OS. Most of Google’s applications are web wrappers versus true desktop applications. If you think about it, it’s like a supercharged version of Samsung DeX—extremely impressive in the terms of ecosystem play, but it’s probably not going to be able to take over Windows anytime soon!

Is 24GB of RAM enough to call the PlayStation 6 a true next-gen leap [ To Keep Console Under Price Ceiling ]

It appears that the upcoming PlayStation 6 may be undergoing some major changes before release due to issues with production costs. One of the two options Sony was working with was to either keep the system "high-end" and charge a premium price, or go cheap on the console and therefore keep its retail cost reasonable. It looks like at this point, they have settled on the latter.

According to several sources, the new PS6 will not have 32 GB of memory as originally planned but instead use only 24 GB. Additionally, by using a standard 1 TB hard drive and a smaller memory bus, Sony would be able to reduce the cost to manufacture the PS6 by approximately $60. While this may seem like a small amount of money in comparison with the total cost of production, it represents a very large portion of a console's overall selling price — enough that the system could be priced either "within reach" of most people or never make any significant sales at all.

While most game developers prefer to have as much "space" as possible available to them with RAM, there are many instances where a developer will prefer to develop for a console that uses less "likely to be used" memory than for one that has more "usable" memory, even if both consoles have the same amount of total unused memory. Therefore the real question for all gamers is whether they would like to have a console that has more performance and will cost them less to purchase.

Stop waiting for your Start menu on Windows 11. It is getting a macOS-like speed boost | How to Windows 11 is getting a 70% responsiveness boost

The new feature by Microsoft called Low Latency Profile is still being tested. It will speed up the operating system more than before, making it as responsive as a Mac.

Traditionally the processor's speed was kept constant for efficiency and conserving battery, but after the update Windows will switch to a much more efficient method. As soon as you press a key, Windows will boost the processor clock frequency to what is necessary for the type of activity (most often user interactively). This means that any part of the system that is going to be interacted with through user input will be given priority until such time that it is no longer needed.

For example, your response time when opening the Start menu and opening context menus will be up to 70% faster than using Windows 10 before the update.

The applications included with this update will also perform much better, for example, applications such as Outlook, Paint and the Microsoft Store will experience a performance increase of 40% in speed after the update.

Some critics have said that "CPU overclocking" is just a "gimmick" to hide programming defects, but Scott Hanselman, Vice President of Microsoft, said that if Apple does that, then why shouldn't Windows be allowed to have the same type of efficiency?

Overall this will allow Windows to perform at speeds and efficiency levels similar to those of current smartphones and recent Macs.

Apple just killed the one feature we’ve been waiting for since 2020. It won’t have a fingerprint sensor [Touch ID] for the Apple Watch

Reports indicate that Apple has abandoned its plans to add Touch ID to the Apple Watch. Despite years of leaks about patents and internal software (codenamed "AppleMesa") that were expected to be released in 2026, the company has reportedly decided to cancel the feature due to two crucial factors:

  1. The rising cost of memory components makes adding a dedicated sensor prohibitively expensive.

  2. Sacrificing battery capacity to add extra processing circuitry is not worthwhile.

Apple is focusing its efforts on its core mission: advanced health sensors and longer battery life. Apple prefers to rely on pairing your iPhone for easy unlocking. This is typical Apple strategy—sacrificing an additional feature to protect device performance (and profits).

The hidden cost of the AI boom ( 29 million gallons of water over 15 months ): How massive data centers are draining our water supply ?

Residents of Fayette County, Georgia, were asked to stop watering their gardens to conserve water, but a major secret lay hidden underground: a massive data center project called "Project Excalibur," spanning 615 acres, was discovered to be consuming a staggering 29 million gallons of water through unauthorized underground connections unknown to the county. Residents only became aware of the problem when their water pressure began dropping significantly.

Despite the unauthorized water withdrawal during a severe drought, county officials refused to fine the developer, claiming that the developer was their "largest customer" and that they needed to prioritize "customer service."

Bought an iPhone 16? You could be owed up to $95—here is how to claim your piece of the $250M Apple settlement.

Apple has agreed to a massive $250 million settlement to resolve a lawsuit concerning the "intelligence of Siri." The lawsuit alleges that Apple sold the iPhone 16 with a supposedly powerful Siri AI feature that, unfortunately, wasn't available at launch.

If you feel your new phone lacks "intelligence," you're not alone. The lawsuit claims that Apple misled consumers with a marketing campaign promoting features that weren't fully implemented even two years later.

Affected individuals who own any iPhone 16 or iPhone 15 Pro/Max model in the United States and purchased it between June 2024 and March 2025 can expect to receive at least $25 per device, with the potential to reach $95 depending on the number of claims filed.

Next step:

Keep an eye on your email! You will be notified via email or post with instructions on how to file a claim.

While Apple says it has reached a compromise to "focus" on innovation, the message is clear: (Consumers are tired of paying "pro" prices for "coming soon" features).

Pixel 11 Pro will ditch the temperature sensor. Did anyone actually use the Pixel temperature sensor?

The Pixel 11 Pro is dropping the built-in temperature sensor. After three generations of attempts to develop a "phone thermometer,"

The sensor first appeared on the Pixel 8 Pro and was essentially a "surface thermometer," but most of us only used it once to check the temperature of a cup of coffee and then forgot about it.

What will replace it? Leaks point to a new feature called "Pixel Glow"—a series of LEDs on the back. While the thermometer was considered a niche tool, Glow seems to prioritize aesthetics and add a unique touch to notifications.

A Google survey in late 2025 showed that users weren't obsessed with checking their forehead temperature with their phones.

Google is replacing a tool no one used with a design feature everyone will notice.

iPhone 18 Pro is shaping up to be more than just a seasonal spec bump. Apple is doubling down on "Pro" features that actually impact your daily grind.

  1. The Dynamic Island is finally shrinking! Thanks to under-display Face ID tech, you’re getting more screen and less "pill." 📱
  2. The new A20 Pro chip is moving to a 2nm process. Translation? Massive gains in AI tasks and efficiency that make your current phone feel like a calculator.
  3. A variable aperture main camera is coming. You’ll finally have manual control over depth-of-field, from creamy bokeh to sharp landscapes. 🎞️
  4. The Pro Max is rumored to be slightly thicker. Why? To pack in the largest battery Apple has ever shipped.
  5. Apple’s in-house C2 modem replaces Qualcomm, promising better signal and even less battery drain.

Apple is trimming the fat—even the "Camera Control" button is getting a simplified 2.0 overhaul to make it less finicky and more functional.

In 2026, the titan of PC gaming is pivoting from a digital storefront into a hardware powerhouse, and the results are turning heads.

The Steam Controller 2.0. At $99, it’s outclassing the competition with tech like TMR thumbsticks—features usually reserved for boutique, ultra-expensive gear. But it’s not just about one gadget; it’s about a unified ecosystem:

The Steam Machine: A first-party beast running SteamOS, bringing PC power to your TV minus the lag. 🖥️

The Steam Frame: A wireless VR successor to the Index, ready to take on the Meta Quest. 🥽

Since Valve owns the Steam store, they don't need "iPhone-level" sales to win. They just need to build a better doorway to their library.

⌚️ Internal leaks (via Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman) suggest that watchOS 27, code-named "Orchid," is bringing a major aesthetic shift to your wrist.

Apple is testing a "simplified" version of the Modular Ultra face specifically for standard Series models. For years, this data-heavy face was locked behind the Ultra’s price tag, but that’s about to change.

What to expect: More at-a-glance data than ever before on a standard Series watch, A "dialed down" version of the Ultra look that balances complexity with the Series' sleeker bezels and Potential for deeper "training load" and health tracking visuals right on the home screen.

While we wait for the big "Orchid" drop, Apple is also rolling out the Pride Luminance face this month to keep your style fresh. The gap between "Pro" and "Standard" hardware is shrinking, and it’s all happening on your wrist.

The days of relying solely on raw silicon power are ending. While the PS5 Pro introduced us to PSSR (upscaling), the PlayStation 6 is preparing to take the ultimate leap: AI Frame Generation.

Sony is currently developing a sophisticated "frame interpolation pipeline." Instead of just sharpening pixels, the PS6 will analyze gameplay data to "predict" and insert entirely new frames. The result? A buttery-smooth 120 FPS experience born from a 60 FPS base.

By targeting a 60 FPS baseline, Sony aims to eliminate the "floaty" feel of current AI-generated frames, Advanced lighting that usually kills performance becomes playable thanks to AI interpolation.

Sony is already upgrading to Gen5 NVMe SSDs to ensure their cloud and local systems can handle this massive data flow.

The PS6 won't just be about pushing pixels; it’s about how intelligently it can guess the next move. We’re entering the era of the "Predictive Console"

AMD is shaking things up for have production workstation computers with a brand-new release of the Ryzen 9 PRO 9965X3D (the “X3D” refers to the 3D V-Cache technology making its debut in the PRO series). For those who are not familiar, the Ryzen 9 PRO 9965X3D offers an incredible amount of power with its 16-core and 32-thread capability, which means you will be able to fully utilize the chip without sacrificing performance while performing tasks that require both productivity as well as leisure-related (aka “work-play”).

So, what makes the Ryzen 9 PRO 9965X3D different than any other workstation cpu to date?

  1. Sixteen (16) cores — that’s the record for the PRO-series as far, as opposed to 12 cores on the previous generations.

  2. The new stacked into the L3 cache means that the PRO-series will now receive the same benefits of “game-inspired” x3d chips as their “gaming-oriented” counterparts.

  3. Hardware security will provide not only the same speed as today’s flagship chips but also add an encryption layer as well as long-term driver stability.

Currently, reports from (the early) benchmarks show Ryzen 9 PRO 9965X3D will provide slightly lower than expected performance than the consumer version would have provided, specifically regarding energy efficiency purposes. This would allow for cooler running systems and OEMs, providing a quiet yet reliable system, even under extreme heat conditions.
