GD...? In canada
My general doctor never mentioned my weight and always says I am healthy. Blood work and blood pressure always good. Even after I got pregnant he never mentioned my weight or any concerns. Once it was time to transfer to an OB I was worried about finding one that was fat phobic. Ive had a horrible experience with a fertility clinic doctor and didnt want to spend my pregnancy feeling that way. First appointment OB mentioned my GD risk factors (I am overweight and my dad is type 2 diabetic). He wanted an early glucose test. Fine. He skipped the 1 hr and went straight to thr 2 hr 75 g test. I passed it. When I went back to his office he said I passed but that I should go on a diabetic diet anyways. Why? Basically he assumed theres no way I wont get GD at some point 😒 He also mentioned that after the baby is born I should go on ozempic (which I wasnt asking for diet advice) I didnt listen. I just ate smart and healthy as much as I could while still allowing treats and cravings when I could. Now I had to do the 24 week test (2 hrs again) and during the appointment he said if I pass this one too he wants A THIRD done at 30 weeks! It feels like he WANTS me to have it at this point just so he is "right". I did the 24 week test and all numbers were good except after 1 hour it was 10.0
Online states 10.0 is the cut off and I cant get a straight answer as to whether I just passed it or failed? One site said its at the discretion of the doctor so we know what the result will be if so 🙄 but just curious if anyone else had experience with this? I know 10.0 is high and I am agreeable to be retested at 30 weeks since it was so high BUT is this already gestational diabetes or am I just at the cusp and not diagnosable?
