Hi all, After years of "wanting" to travel and being very surprised after hearing prices/budgets. I decided to make 1 new thread to ask for tips tricks to fill in my get away.
Base : Netherlands
Budget : Bare minimum 40.000 euro ( minimum of 40.000 in slow low risk investment, to be as sure as can be its available when i return )
Start : Januari 2027. End : the moment i have to worry about money... so it could be 3 years or more. Or 1 year/when if i want to get back.
Is 7-8 months of planning enough or way to much?
Plan : travel europe for 3 months(by car/camping), South america 6-12 months and Asia 6-12 months ( depending on flights and passive income back home )
Goal : Comfortably travel ( as in : nothing crazy just simple hotels with own shower, eat local ) and spend roughly 50% of the time enjoying and 50% or less to sightsee.
End-goal personally : completely relax, find out what i want to do with the rest of my days
Fallback in worst case scenario : place to live and work secure when i get back. ( atleast 6 months with family and i work in logistics is alway available )
World travel insurance etc is all researched and i have a couple contacts that help in :
Aruba ( friends house) Canada ( relatives ) Virgin Islands ( family friend company/accomodation)
