(23F) looking for a friend for my (21M) friend.
Just like the tittle says, I have a friend (21M) who has gone through a lot in the past years. I’m always there to help him out, but unfortunately, I can’t change the fact that he’s an introvert and is afraid of getting to know people and be kicked out in the curbed. He’s tried dating but just gets ghosted or played on. Has tried to make more friends besides me, but he’s an OW coach and gets used for free coaching and then ghosted. He’s an amazing friend, and I feel bad for him because he’s funny and has all the good traits to make long term friends. But like I said, life hasn’t been kind to him.
I just want to help him out. Build his confidence. He started to believe that maybe he’s just unlikable. And it bothers me that I know he can 100% make more friends like me, but he won’t approach any one because of the fear of being judged again.
This is because in the past, he has tried to be friends with another girl and she started to spread rumors about him liking her. Ever since, he thinks that every girl he talks to it’s going to do the same. So he now will only allow professional relationships with other women and nothing more. I want to prove to him that not everyone is a bad apple.
This might be a lot to take in, but truly I don’t know where to take this and what to do to help him. If anyone is interested, let me know. And if you have any advice, I will take it!
