Originally I was gonna head for the public library but they closed over AC problems with the heat. So I just walked until I got home.

“Vermont Division At Battle of Chancellorsville” Julian Scott.

This painting by Scott was made in 1871-72 which shows the action of Vermonters in the battle. This painting would also be the cover of Jeff Shaara’s 1996 novel, Gods and Generals.

This battle would be where the First New Jersey Brigade fought in. At the same time this also took part in the Chancellorsville campaign that ended in disaster for the Union army.

1st flag is the 9th New Jersey aka the Jersey Muskrats.

2nd flag is the 14th New Jersey, the Monocacy Regiment.

3rd flag is the 8th New Jersey, apparently the man who I emailed for this flag told me that this flag was made probably in 1864, unfortunately the records are very very scarce for this one.

All these belong to the New Jersey State Museum. But also these appear in this website despite the quality being very bad.
