Sting Have Dropped Their Debut Studio Album ‘Sting’ (October 1991)

In 1965, 4 boys were born:
Daniel Adams born january 7th 1965, in Addingham, West Yorkshire
Axel Thane born on December 25th 1964, in Addingham, West Yorkshire
Kaid Jensen born on March 25th 1965, in Leeds, West Yorkshire
Pheonix Reed born december 8th, 1964 in Manchester

Daniel Adams and Axel Thane grew up living next door to each other, and instantly, there was a bond between the 2. They both adored music, bands like Liveon, The Rolling Stones and artists like Seraph and the Knight Brothers. While attending Secondary school, they met a boy in their tutor called Kaid Jensen. The boys noticed that he would sit and eat alone, so one day they invited him to hang out at the skate park after school.

They realised that Kaid was a very talented guitarist and they fell in love with just playing. Axel actually taught himself how to play the guitar and was very good at it. So after school, all 3 o them would just shred. During Music Class, the teacher told the class to get into bands and learn a song to play. However, they needed a 4th member, and a kid named Pheonix Reed came up to them asking to join, so then there were 4.

They learned the song ‘Darling, Sun’ of Seraph’s debut album in 1975. amd played it to a tea. so much so, the music teacher actually made them playin front of the whole school. The lineup was:
Daniel Adams - Singer
Axel Thane - Lead Guitarist
Kaid Jensen - Guitarist
Pheonix Reed - Drummer

However, instead of going to the music industry, the group decided to put it on hold and decided to pursue college and university, where they all attended the University of Leeds, studying music engineering. This is when they met a boy called David Seenan, who was studying on the same course as them. They also shared a house with him in 1987. They all graduated in the summer of ’87.

After, however, they had no idea what to do. That’s when the idea of the band started to float around again, and now wth 5 members they thought it could be done. So the group started to perform renditions of hit songs in local pubs in and around Yorkshire.

But the group felt so unoriginal that they didn’t have that uniqueness. That’s when Kaid came up with the idea to be like a servant to a godly being. So after a few hours, the group came up with the idea of the one who will rule all. The group decided to paint their faces as who this being wanted them to be.

However, before going to a sold-out show. David Seenan chose to leave the band as he didn’t believe in the band’s goals and decided to join another band. So now, without a bassist, the band was struggling. The group decided to keep carrying on and got a very big cult following. This caught the attention of Eclipse Records executive Sharon Michaels. This is also when the band caught news of Rock Icons Vaughn Axel’s split.

While negotiations for the band’s contract to Eclipse, they met Vaughn Axel Drummer ‘Vinnie Vega’, and he believed in the bands image and goals and agreed to join. The band that started in a high school in Leeds has now signed a record deal and os recordin their debut album. The band known as Sting.

Recording began in April 1990 and finished in January 1991. And the group decided the first single ‘Scorpio’ would drop on April 19th 1991. While the label listened to the album, they were just amazed by the band’s enthusiasm and their passion. However, they wanted them to scrap the face paints to which Daniel said, “This is who HE wants us to be, we don’t listen to you, only HIM”.

Scorpio was released and it took off running debuting at #43 on the hot 100 this was the bands big break and their 2nd and final single ‘Blackout’ will be released on July 10th 1991 and the album will be released on October 31st 1991.

The Band was making national headlines. their face paints was plasterd all over channel 5 and Scorpio was rising up the charts. The group was at the grasp of making it big. Blackout had released and it sent the band to new heights breaking into the US with it debuting at #90 on the US Charts and #43 in the UK. The band had gone global.

The album was next so the memebers decded to spend te last few months with family. This has been their dream for soo long and its finaly happening. October soon came and before you knew it the album was here.

Sting was released on Halloween Night on 1991 and it debuted at #5 on Billboard selling 141,000 copies its first week. This caused a massive wave across the UK and Sting was going on tour. to capitalise this massive success the Band was booked for a World Tour stopping in 12 countries and going from November 1991 to April 1992. Each venue io the UK and US has sold out with reports saying France, Canada, Australia, Germany & Brazil all on the cusp of selling out.

However, when asked about their face paints the band just stared into the camera before Axel responded “youll soon see the true face of HIM … of the ICON”

Born in Atlanta, Georgia in March 25th 1992, Akiro Walkins who is the older brother to Ashanti Walkins who was born a year after in September 20th 1993. As the two grew up they were inseparable. However by the time the boys were 4 & 3 they saw their father getting arrested for possessing and selling illegal substances.

Their mother tried everything and anything to make sure her boys didn’t have to live in the streets. By the time Akiro was in middle school he was out of school more than he was in. He kept getting into fights and just didn’t care. He hates school. Around this time in 2005 Atlanta Rap was rising with artists such as Gucci Mane and Young Jeezy making their debut.

They fell in love with Rap. Growing up listening to Kontrol Freakz and even other types of rap with artists like Mad Prophet and even female rapper such as TrinaXx. By the time Ashanti was 9 he had memorised every verse of the highly praised song ‘Popstar’ by legend rapper Lil Gotti featuring Young Jeezy and Bun B.

They wanted to be rapper. Together. They started rapping to themselves in their room and around this time they met up with their cousin called Deshawn Daniels who was about a year younger than Ashanti (born on November 1st 1994) and the 3 just clicked they was the life of the party.

They linked with a local producer by the name of ATLDenzall who helped produce the song ‘Border Order’ which was made on May 2nd 2013. They began preforming the song at parties and even sneaking into clubs. They began getting local traction around the State.

What made them special was the way the group just bounced off eachother with adlibs and the way they open the song for eachother. When asked about their name they was all high so joked saying A$TRO because they making money and are out of this world. But fans loved it.

During the end and start of 2013-2014 the group began working on an album with ATLDenzall however on November 7th 2014 their big break came. Upcoming Rapper Nova $kyes featured Ashanti on his project ‘THE NIGHT B4’ and skyrocketed the group. This made them have stage names;

Deshawn - YZTrap

And on December 4th 2014, Border Order was officially released as the bands first single. This new found success gave them the light of meeting Gucci Mane who liked the group and decided to take them under his wing and help release their debut mixtape. They also signed a deal with RBC Records because but still allowed to release under a Gucci for this project.

Young Oso - L$D (2015)

after coming off a dominate year already in 2015 topping the charts with ‘9otti’ and having a “Boom” in the summer with Young Slez Make It Boom things seemed up for Young Oso. but things couldnt of been further from the truth.

Most days Oso was high as a kite just sat mumbling into the microphone music was all he had left. after losing Ethan and Evelyn leaving he was destroyed, and you can hear it in some of the songs he made. Oso was heavily depended on Lean, percocets and other drugs. One drug Oso was hooked on was LSD and the psycadelic vibe it gave him inspired his final release of 2015.

“Lookin’ $upa Dope” was released on August 21st 2015 and it was different. That trap sound wasnt there he was mumbling and it worked. no singles dropped prior to the project and when fans heard rumours of features as big as Trilla and Drake but when the mixtape dropped it was confirmed the 15 track mixtape had no features.

it debuted at #1 on the hot 200 with Dru9 Dealin9 debuting at number 2. it sold 250k first week. in 2015, at a grammy party Oso met risiing superstar Malcolm who was fresh off his breakout debut album ‘Songs For When Its Loud At Home’ which the song ‘Wear That Name’ was nominted for best rap song but didnt win.

Oso and Malcolm laughed the whole night, but one bit stuck out to Oso and it was Malcolm tallking about how hes gping into rehab and says he is scared. infact his words were ‘im more scared of the man that will leave that centre than the man who entered’ showing hes scared ehat will happen to him when he gets sober.

Oso told him that no matter what hell be a legend and an inpiration and that decision and that meeting made oso stop taking LSD and slowed his drug use. he also called Evelyn that night but it isnt confirmed what happened.

Oso failed to win any grammies at the 2015 ceremony and actually went 0/3. He is said to be working with artists again with the likes of Lil’ Trilla, Slexzo and even rising stars like A$TROS and Nova $kyes.
