I was in a car crash in early December. Put a claim with my insurance because it was the other drivers fault and they put a claim against me a month later. They weren’t insured at the time even tho their car insurance talked for them. I was paid for my totaled car since they came to the conclusion it was the other drivers fault and we moved on in January. Yesterday I found out the driver wants to sue me for their hospital stay because of the crash and their car insurance called me to tell me that, is that normal? This is the first time I’ve ever been in trouble with the law and been in a car crash/car accident. They weren’t insured at the time of the crash so I’m confused as to why that same insurance called me to tell me they’re gonna sue me to cover their hospital bill. Is this just a normal thing they do? I’m in Texas.
