I’ve been working as a contractor for a contracting company that works along the DOD. It’s relatively a chill job and I do have a clearance but I do not have set hours and it’s mostly contractual work and you’re able to work at any time of the day for a minimum of 20 hours a week can work up to as many hours as long as there is work available.
It’s completely remote and it’s relatively low hourly pay but I like the flexibility. I’ve recently gotten an offer for an unpaid internship for a political consulting company this summer and I was wondering if this would be a problem? I’ve been interested in politics for a long time so I’m excited for this opportunity. I obviously I wouldn’t work my remote job during my internship but I was wondering if this would be a problem? I would work my remote job on weekends and on hours I’m outside my internship. When I was first hired my contract employer was open about that working another job was fine as work isn’t always frequent so working another job is clearly no issue but was wondering if the nature of the job would be an ethical issue possibly?
