Query about restoring a seamaster [135.011]
I'm new on this sub so don't know if this is allowed and tried the watch repair and vintage watch subs to no luck
This was my father's seamaster 600 which I want to keep, along with some kf the wear on the dial but want to stop any further damage of course.
I have also some knowledge on watch modding/repair but it's mainly digitals or quartz movemnts
It seems that the movement is fine and running accurately but I need help with:
Crown was replaced sometime which I was wondering if it's possible to source an appropriate steel crown (it came with a chrome plated brass one which is slowly discoloring). Where would I source one of these?
The gasket has gone on this and may explain the water ingress/damage to the dial. Where would I get a new one?
The minute hand has lost its lime, but hour still has it. Would it be worth reluming myself or just paying for a watch specialist to do this?
There are some brown marks on the edge of the dial, is this something to worry about or would I risk damaging the dial by trying to remove?
Thanks in advance
