If you’re just starting GMAT prep and feel completely lost—congrats, you’re doing it right 💀

I swear the first few days feel like: “What even is Data Insights?” “Why are these math questions worded like riddles?” “Am I just dumb or is this test weird?”

But here’s what actually helps (learned the hard way):

  1. Don’t start studying immediately Yeah, sounds wrong. But first, just understand the exam—sections, timing, question types. Otherwise you’ll just be doing random stuff.

  2. Take a diagnostic test You will probably get humbled. It’s fine. That’s the point.

  3. Fix your basics before acting smart Jumping to “hard questions” early = fastest way to feel miserable. Basic quant + basic verbal first.

  4. Stop doing 100 questions blindly Do fewer, but actually review them. Like why did you mess up? That’s where the improvement is.

  5. Timing is half the game GMAT isn’t just “can you solve this?” It’s “can you solve this fast without panicking?”

The weird part? After a couple of weeks, things start clicking and you’re like “Wait… this isn’t THAT bad?”

If you’re starting out right now—what’s confusing you the most?
