Hi! Hello!

About 3 weeks ago I was promoted to a Store Manager for a vape shop chain that I've worked for since November of last year. This employee/team member was manager before they gave it to me, I believe they made them step down due to their unpunctuality and leaving early due to their pregnancy (they also left without warning on many occasions). They still have a job with the company with lower hours but the same pay (as far as I've been informed) and the still work at the same location. And as a note, they are going on maternity leave here in a few weeks.

As of lately, they have been giving me attitude as if they have some sort of disdain towards me. I have brushed it off on multiple occasions thinking that it may not be disdain but just exhaustion from the pregnancy. But, I have been noticing their behaviour with others and it seems more respectful and collected. Towards me, not as so. Our conversations have seem to been on their end as if tolerating me.

I really don't want them assuming or thinking that I "stole" their position. They have taught me quite a bit since with the company and I appreciate their guidance throughout my associates position when I was their employee at the time.

They are a very hard and determined employee and I shall always give them high praise.

Is there anything you all would recommend for me to do?

Thank you so much in advance.
