I'm extremely terrified of lizards to the point where i will freeze up if there's one in my room. i get severe anxiety when i see them moving and it's gotten to the point where i will forego drinking water or having food if there's a lizard around the kitchen or on the staircase on the way to the kitchen.
or just sit and hold my pee in if there's one in the bathroom.
i live in a country where there's lizards in every nook and cranny (primarily why i stopped going outside at night) and the only reason im able to survive right now is because i have my mom and brother around to either shoo the lizard away or fetch me something to frink when im too scared to do it myself.
my dad brought up the fact that eventually I'll have to deal with this shit myself so he's going to look into exposure therapy but just the thought of being exposed to them makes me break out in hives...
has anyone managed to successfully beat this phobia or is this something I'll have to live with forever 😭
also it's not just lizards (those are just the ones i come into contact the most). there's also frogs and toads basically all amphibians and reptiles though frogs and lizards are the ones ive come into contact with the most. i also hate turtles but can stand to be around them a little bit unlike lizards/frogs/toads.
