(yes this is a jjk thread)
i see far too many people constantly jump to simply evoking the NLF the moment a discussion about certain abilities reaches the obvious topic of characters with absurdly high stats. many will simply say that it’s a no limits fallacy to claim that things like gojo’s infinity or mahoraga’s adaptation simply wouldn’t work as we haven’t seen them interact with planetary AP before. this is an absurd claim to make
when thinking about the limits of certain abilities you need to take into account *why* those limits would be in place.
there’s nothing about infinity that would make it so that an otherwise normal punch with planetary AP wouldn’t be stopped like anything else.
there’s nothing about mahoraga’s immunity post adaptation that would make it so that a simply more potent version of the phenomena would bypass it.
in a similar vein, there’s nothing about takaba’s post “death” comedic revivals that makes it so that the strength of the attack he took would matter at all
not to mention that there are clear narrative intentions to certain abilities’ limits that can’t be ignored, but should be taken with a grain of salt
