My friend had his interview on 14th April in Delhi. He had a letter from UT Houston, got it through an agency.

The VO only asked him the purpose of visit. He replied - I’ve got the opportunity to go for a 4 week clinical observership in Hematology and Oncology department at Lyndon B Johnson Hospital. Straight after that the VO said that your visa is not approved at this time and gave him the 214(b) slip.

What did he do wrong? And what can we do now?

We were thinking of applying the same way if his visa gets approved but they didn’t even give him the chance to show the letter or say anything else. Currently we’re in internship but it ends in 15 days.

Should we apply with this reason and with a similar letter?

Or apply after step 1 but we’ll be graduates by then?

Or apply with our family for a vacation?

Or apply on the basis of step 3?

Please tell me what to do, it’s really demotivating and stressful.

Is the USMLE journey over if we don’t get a visa?

What’s the best way to apply so that it gets approved?
