A few months ago I shared a tool I made, SpellCards.app, and the response from r/DnD was honestly way bigger than I expected. A lot of the feedback and suggestions from that thread directly shaped the updates I’ve been working on since then.

Originally, the site was only for making printable D&D spell cards, but it has had a pretty major overhaul since the original post. I rebuilt a lot of the UX to make creating and organizing cards faster and less painful, especially when dealing with large spell lists or homebrew content.

But the two biggest additions are:

  • Monster Cards: Full stat blocks, traits, actions, legendary actions, etc. formatted into printable cards. This can be especially useful for players with summons and Druids with Wild Shape, but I also use these constantly when I am running encounters as a DM.
  • Magic Item Cards: From armor and weapons to wondrous items, the SRD is actually really generous with items. But for my own table, the most useful thing is being able to quickly create homebrew magic items to hand out during sessions.

Just like with the Spell Cards, both Monster Cards and Item Cards support custom cards through Google Sheets imports. Just use the template provided on the site under the custom data field and you should be able to make your own monsters/items pretty easily.

The site remains completely free to use, and I will continue to add features when I have time. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported the project so far! And happy dungeon delving.
