As the title says I recently bought a new imac and want to transfer all my stuff from one to the other.

I think I'm on my 4th attempt now as leaving them at it over night didn't seem to work as it got stuck on the last bit and the time estimate just kept going up instead of down.

I've connected an ethernet cable now but the time estimate is going up now too.

I've tried connecting a thunderbolt cable to the both of them but migration assistant doesn't seem to pick it up so it uses peer to peer.

I've updated both macs to the latest OS, restarted multiple times.

At my wits end now as I have work on Monday and need a computer! Please any help or advice before I lose my mind would be amazing 👏
