I thought you were supposed to use a VPN while powering stuff. But when I try watching anime, it won’t let anything load. Could anyone give me some tips on how to do it safe safely.

Whenever i try and watch things with my vpn on it wont work. Am i doing something wrong?
I am under the impression vpns protect you while your on the internet but i dont know everything.
