23zero tent power box problems

My exped sits to high for the box that 23zero has, it pushes on the usb cords and pushes over on the bayonet for the cig lighter for my cpap. So I took it apart today. I’m pretty disappointed! ☹️ not premium at all.

Number 3 hex for the top, 8mm for the bottom. Box is off number 2 Phillips for the socket face place and we’re in! Except the wires are so poorly crimped it fell apart in my hand.

I need to raise this up about 3-4” I’ll work with a friend who has a 3D printer and see if it’s something we can manage.

The wire supply is maybe 18g, that will get upgraded to the same as the supply to the Anderson so 10awg. Then I’m going to add two extra Anderson plugs for positive power for the two PAP’s.

Over all I’m glad I decided to look in here the OEM is poorly finished and I would have anticipated some heat from the resistance of the poor connections.

Had to tear mine down for warranty investigation but I took lots of pics. The battery has 13v but the bms is non responsive to anything

To get in you take the six plugs out and pull the Phillips head screws then you lose one to the bumper monster and bobs your uncle!

For that funny T track on the roof.

Drove me nuts for a while. I found a 175 watt renogy panel but I also found two 100 watt panels that were about the same size and N type cells. So more wattage similar size I bought both! Actually put them up there and decided for redundancy and higher wattage I’d install the 2x100watt and sent the renogy back.

Hardware was series 3030 nuts, m8 button head hex (slow down the crackheads a little, maybe) washer lock washer and thread locker green. I paralleled from the roof down to the controller so if one panel took a hit I’d still be able to charge a little. The point is to charge on the move and while stationary without having to put panels down. I’ve been doing that and it’s a pain to keep an eye on whose kids are galloping around or whatever. This is not a drain and fill in a day for my system. I did add a zero breeze cause somebody said we are not camping in the heat anymore. Hold my beer I can fix that! Along the way I found out one of my hunsienk batteries had shit the bed. I’m working through their algorithm to slice it but the baseline is 200ah of battery.

Back to install. I used some slotted brackets for adjustability’s sake, If you do this make sure your slots will fit M8 bolts mine were a smidge tight and I hand filed them into compliance because I was done ordering shit through Amazon.

Rivnutted ((I know what I said dirty birdies!)m6 on thebottom third of the edge of the panels and used the same washer lock washer green thread locker. I used 10awg oxygen free high thread count paired speaker wire (big T hanks sky high audio out of reno!) I’m not sponsored by anybody but they ship fast and have exactly what I need every time I need it so a tip o the tam o’shanter to them fine laddies and lasses.

Tied it all in with 50amp Anderson’s at the controller because reasons and it’s what I had laying around. Also paralleled in was my old weatherproof solar panel access point. So in addition to the new roof panels I can still throw out the folding panels or if we are tucked into the shady shade I can run some panels out to the sun for the day time.

Next up is to mod the 23zero power access, my 6” (heh AROUND) exped mat pushes on the usb plugs when you plug something in and also cranks on the cig/bayonet items when that’s used. I’m either going to move the access to the side or make that box taller with 3D printing and find a way to protect it from strain.

Until next time you mother lovers!!
