This is a thinkpad x31 from 2003. It lost its hard drive and its hdd slot cover (see image 2). I replaced the IDE drive but haven't found a replacement for the slot cover online. Seems early thinkpads may use the same part over multiple devices across the x or t series, if any of you know the parts serial number or if later notebooks had this same part, pls let me know.
I've had this x31 (2003) notebook for a while now. It is an incredible device, the 23 year-old drinking-age battery still works perfectly and holds 40 minutes of charge. I've given it 1gb of ram (the max it can hold). It runs gta3 and halo well enough. Haven't dared installing vista on it. One partition on its current dangling hdd has ubuntu and another has windows XP. Sometimes I even use AutoCAD on this device.
