I had a TFMR at 22 weeks pregnant for severe congenital heart defects (CHD), specifically for Tetralogy of Fallot (ToF) with pulmonary atresia. It was not genetic - we were told it was a random accident. This was the hardest thing I’ve ever been through. I also have Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and my TSH was high (20) in early pregnancy, and I’m overweight, but my OB didn’t think my hypothyroidism or weight caused the heart defects. It’s so hard to know for sure :(
I’m now 6 weeks out from my TFMR and I got my period this week. We are going to wait one cycle and start trying to conceive the next cycle as per my OB’s recommendations.
Did anyone have a TFMR for CHD and then have a successful sub pregnancy afterwards? Did you do anything differently in your sub pregnancy? Would really appreciate some hope right now 💙
I’ve cut out sugar from my diet and am eating mostly fruits, vegetables, meat, beans, and whole grains. Walking daily and going to the gym 2-3x/week.
I also started taking high dose folic acid in addition to prenatals, and also CoQ10 for egg quality, iron because I’m deficient, vitamin D because I’m deficient, Myo inositol because I have Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and gained 15 pounds during pregnancy, and brazil nuts for selenium because of my Hashimoto’s.
Thanks in advance 🤍
