Trying to replace physical manga collecting with a digital library
I’m seriously considering moving from physical manga to a fully digital library as part of simplifying my space and consuming media more intentionally.
I already own an iPhone and an iPad, and I’d rather avoid buying another dedicated device like a Kindle unless it’s really necessary. My ideal setup would be something simple, durable, and as universal/non-proprietary as possible.
For people who’ve gone digital with books or manga:
- What apps or ecosystems worked best for you?
- Is there a “best” file format for long-term ownership and portability?
- Do you miss owning physical books/manga?
- Did going digital actually help reduce clutter and consumption habits, or did it just shift them?
Would love to hear from anyone who’s been in a similar situation.
