my_qualifications: BTech CSE 3rd year, good CGPA, multiple research work
So I am very confused between choosing where to go for masters. I want to be in a moderately competitive environment. Not too brutal and not laid back. In these times it is more confusing than ever. Will be funded by my parents; however, the lower the better depending on what I get.
There are some things that I have observed with my research:
USA - good opportunities, good pay, career growth, and center for tech. But no assurance, high cost of living, very competitive, no pathway for PR, etc. FOR ME, I had got a very good summer internship opportunity in a good uni in USA; all was set and good to go, but they literally rejected my J1 VISA in 10 seconds; still don’t know the reason. Got heartbroken; cried a lot; USA was my first option. Having an internship was a plus point and would’ve cemented my decision. But now I am at a crossroads regarding USA. J1 rejection will definitely mess up my F1 and masters journey. So will beg for you guys to advise me on that.
Australia - okayish opportunities, relatively easy PR, good weather, good work-life balance. Less pay, high cost of living, and tuition cost also high. We can work part-time anywhere, so that is a plus. But jobs in pure engineering, electronics, and robotics are very less. Even AI/ML jobs are limited to the finance sector. Government is also making it stricter to get PR.
Germany - Was planning for this country way before any other, but others seemed good for that time. Now, Germany seems a good option. Low tuition fees, automotive, robotics sector always in demand, things get easy when you know German. Cons - need to learn the language, competitive. Don’t know how to get PR. But with my interest in cars, F1, and AI/ML, it seems a safe option.
I want to get a PR. I don’t want to come back to India if possible, but will be okay if I have to. I want to work where my interests are. I want to be stress-free but will do a lot of hard work wherever I plan to go.
What option should I choose? It is clear that I can only choose one. I want to get into a good ranked university. I have about a year left for graduation, so I need to decide in a few months. Please give your opinions with experience if you have any. Thanks a lot!
