A relative of mine just asked for my help to transfer all her data from her old 2014 Macbook Air to her new Macbook Neo. Is that even possible? Does the migration assistant support such a huge OS and hardware architecture difference? Or can I just do a time machine backup on the old mac and restore it on the Neo?

I've done data migrations from a 7 year old Macbook Pro, but never with hardware that's 12 years behind.

Any advice would be much appreciated :-)
