Salvage Yard Thor
Since everybody's been posting a whole bunch of broken Thors, RMA issues, shipping issues, this and that, and I know a lot of people are looking for more positive posts as well.
Well here's one. Here's my model, a batch 2 November delivered Black Max model.
When purchasing this device, I had all intentions to use it in the manner which I'm using it. It comes with me to a salvage yard everyday. I'm a truck driver, yard operator, material handler, you name it. And there are periods of downtime.
If anybody knows what a salvage yard looks like, it's a brutal environment. Heavy dust, metal getting thrown around, things are just not very nice. I have a camouflage demolition ranch backpack with an inner pocket that I keep it in, but that backpack is thrown, slammed, metal plates dropped on it, It has fallen out of my backpack and out of the seat of my truck with a 4-ft drop, and more.
It's been hit, fallen in a mud puddle, beat up, gamed on daily, but here it is, still looking fairly decent, it's definitely showing wear, but there's nothing wrong with it.
Now mind you this doesn't mean that you should just go out and be hard on your devices, but when buying it I knew what I was getting into. I kept the foam insert and I regularly use that, which I imagine helps a lot with impact resistance.
The only issue I've developed that's been pretty common, is the lightsabering fan issue, but I'm just going to run it until it fails. It doesn't really bother me, and as long as it works I'm fine and I'll replace it when it does fail.
