We’re moving to Austin this summer, and my 9-year-old son is really into lacrosse.
From what I can tell, youth programs seem to be tied to high school feeders. We’re currently looking at Highland Park West and Allandale, but it looks like McCallum High School doesn’t have a lacrosse program.
Curious where kids from those neighborhoods typically play—do they feed into the Anderson High School / NW Hills program, Austin High School, or something else entirely?
He also plays club lacrosse, so I’d love any perspective on the local club scene (Stangs, IronHorse, Lonestar Austin, etc. We’re ideally looking for a program that emphasizes development and fun over a super intense, win-at-all-costs environment (at least at this age).
