I’ve had my Elantra N for about 4 months now, and I feel like I’m ready to start changing things up, but I’m stuck on where to begin. Im not sure whether to focus on cosmetics or performance first? I’m 20 and on a budget, so if I go the performance route it’ll probably be one upgrade at a time instead of doing everything at once. I’ve got around $4k saved, but I also need new tires soon, so I’m trying to be smart with it.

Right now I’m thinking about new rims and tires, plus maybe lowering springs for fitment. At the same time, I do want the car to feel quicker not that it has felt slow but all my friends are pushing 600 hp so im tryna catch up.

I’ve also been eyeing those clear taillights I’ve seen on Instagram, but they’re around $1k, so I’m not sure if that’s worth it this early.

I’m basically just trying to figure out what makes the most sense for a first round of changes.

For anyone who’s gone down this road with their Elantra N (or really any car), how did you approach it? What did you start with, and anything you’d do differently?
