India’s Most Used Currency Notes 💸🇮🇳

India’s Most Used Currency Notes 💸🇮🇳

According to the value of notes currently in circulation, the ₹500 note completely dominates India’s cash economy with over ₹30 lakh crore in circulation 😳

Interesting how ₹500 became the “default cash note” after demonetisation, while ₹2000 notes are almost gone now.

What denomination do you personally use the most these days — or has UPI completely replaced cash for you? 👀

India’s PPP number surprised me compared to the US/UK

I was reading about Purchase Power Parity (PPP) and finally understood why salaries between countries can’t be compared directly.

For example, India’s PPP conversion factor is around 20, while countries like the US and UK are much closer to 1.

What that basically means is:
₹20 spent in India can sometimes buy what roughly $1 buys in the US
