Hi friends!

My husband and I are going on a large family trip to Maui! We will be staying in Kaanapali but we are hoping to take a half day to explore the east side of the island. It seems like you have to take the RTH to get to Pipiwai trail - if we stop for just banana bread on the way, can this be done in 5-6 hours?

Google maps keeps taking us to the trailhead coming from Haleakalā - can we take this route and skip RTH entirely?
