Hi r/ebooks,
I’m part of the team behind HedgehogReader, an iOS/iPadOS e-book reading app.
This time I wanted to share how our app handles notes (including one feature that might be a bit unusual).
You can use notes in the usual way:
- add text while reading
- edit and move notes around on the page
- export them (as text, a file, or between devices)
But the more unusual part is that notes can also be used to fix the book itself.
If you notice a typo or want to rephrase something, you can:
- create a note with the corrected text
- open “Notes” from the book menu
- select it and press “commit”
And the original text gets replaced with your version.
The video shows a quick example of how this works.
Curious how people would use something like this - just for fixing typos, or also for personal edits?
