Just bought this house built in 1898. Unfortunately the previous owners removed the original fireplace and dry walled over it. I was hoping to open it up again to build a non-functioning one in it’s place. Unfortunately, the wall above it is in pretty rough shape.
What would it roughly cost to get a mason to repair this, it doesn’t need to be pretty, just structurally sound so i can open the fireplace up again.
Is this even diy’able?
