I received my eggs in the mail today from South Georgia to here in Missouri. I was wondering how long you guys let your shipped eggs sit before incubation. I’ve read 12 hours and I’ve read 24 hours. I’d really like to pop them in before I go to work tomorrow but I’m not sure if 12 hours is enough

This is going to be my first time hatching eggs. I ordered from gopher ridge. I have my notes written down and have 2 smaller thermometers/humidity readers inside because this doesn’t read right. I think I’ve got everything down but my only question is what should I do with the vent? I read to close it down during lockdown but I’ve also read to keep it open to prevent gas buildup inside for hatching chicks. What shall I do? If humidity is being maintained with the vent open can I keep it open at all times? Any other tips and tricks are welcome. TIA
