Traditional 401k & Roth IRA

A lot of dialogue I see on here is Roth 401k vs traditional 401k or 401k vs IRA - but not much in how they can be used in conjunction.

In a hypothetical situation where you plan to invest 30k a year for retirement (23k into 401k, 7k into Roth IRA) does it make sense to split your 401k contributions between Roth and traditional 401k, or go all in traditional since you’re getting Roth exposure through the Roth IRA? Assume work matches 6% of your 401k.
