Hi everyone,
I really need some outside perspective because I’m overwhelmed right now.
I had a 9 month old male cat who was very attached to my family. He used to stay indoors a lot but also went out into our garden daily, climbed trees, and sometimes fought with other cats nearby.
I couldn't take care of both him and his mother, but I didn't want to give him up. I found a friend who keeps cats in her garden; although she doesn't let them indoors, the garden is safe and quiet. She feeds them regularly and, most importantly, she is a veterinary student.
The problem is now he hasn’t been seen since the day after I brought him to her (4days now ) . She told me it’s normal for garden cats to explore and return later. But right now no one has seen him clearly, and I’m panicking.
I’m also feeling guilty because I keep replaying whether moving him there was a mistake, even though the place had food and a garden and seemed fine.
I’m trying to understand , Is it normal for young garden cats to disappear like this? How far do they usually roam when adjusting?Do they usually come back after a few days, or should I be more worried?
Any advice or real experiences would really help right now.
