My mother was diagnosed about five years ago. She is getting hard to understand.

She forgets words which is fine, I can follow in the blanks, but she also is starting to really slur and she speaks so quietly. She phoned me yesterday and I couldn’t get any of what she is saying.

What I did get didn’t make sense. She was at her vacation home by the sea she said. She is actually at her retirement home. In the country. Something a man in dark flowing robes who was asking for her.

I think about how isolating it must be to have this disease. But I don’t think she has the capacity to feel isolated.
