Hi everyone,
I’ve just found out I’ve failed my AKT and I’ve got a resit in about 3 weeks. I’m still waiting for the full breakdown, but from my result it looks like it was quite a significant fail.
For context, for my first attempt I mainly used Passmedicine and also tried to revise conditions based on the MLA content map to build my core knowledge. However, I didn’t score well in Passmed and I made a lot of mistakes in the actual exam.
I’m now trying to figure out how to approach the next 3 weeks because it feels really short, and I’m not sure if what I did before was the right strategy. I don’t think just doing Passmed questions again is enough for me, but I’m also worried that going back to textbooks might be too slow given the time limit.
I’ve got my PFP placement starting soon before the resit, so I’ll mainly be studying evenings and weekends.
I also feel quite anxious because I was more focused on OSCE before, and I did manage to pass that, but now AKT is the only thing stopping me from graduating, so the pressure feels really high.
For anyone who has passed AKT resits or improved significantly in a short time:
What worked best for you in the final few weeks?
Did you stick to question banks or go back to textbooks/guidelines?
How did you structure your revision in such a short timeframe?
Any realistic advice would be really appreciated. I’m trying to reset and approach this properly this time.
