I've been in touch with a professor about a research internship. He gave me a paper to review as an assignment, said 'good' after my response, and has asked me multiple times when my exams end and when my summer break starts. I followed up after 2 weeks of no response and he mentioned other students are confirming their start dates by a certain date, and again asked when my exams will end.

It feels like a yes but I have no formal confirmation.

Now I've received another internship offer that expires in a day. I want to intern under prof 1. Is it okay to mail him directly asking for a confirmation? Or would that be rude? Considering how I mailed him just recently.
