Sorry for the flair but there wasn't one for injury
This morning my spouse found our fantail goldfish here trapped behind our filters intake tube, they were able to move the tube so he could swim free but he is seriously injured.
His spine is BENT, I don't know how else to describe it, he looks bruised too. He is in our hospital tank (Nitrates 0, Ammonia 0, pH 7.5 if you need to know) and he can't swim properly, he's certainly trying to though, he's being so tough.
But he can't eat like this and I am out of my depth, I've dealt with sickness before but never something like this.
Any treatment advice is appreciated
EDIT: To update, my boy Bendy has unfortunately passed away before we were able to do much of anything. I want to keep this thread open though because I really want to know what we could have done better here.
I really love goldfish and I've learned so much from sources like this subreddit, forums, other hobbyists in shops but it still feels like I am sorely lacking in information. I have procedures like water cycling, testing, feeding and acclimating down to near muscle memory but there's always something I didn't know before when a problem arises.
My oldest fish got to 7 years old and I knew so little when I got him, bendy here made it to 3 which is so crazy because I know so much more now than ever before yet I still wasn't able to help him.
Sorry, started to vent, but I hope you all can understand.
