I have a brick exterior chimney that has some limepaint on it. I want to attach tile to it, there is an outdoor shower/tub connected to it. I was planning to use Weldcrete over the brick that will be where the shower and bath are. Then use semco waterproofing (2 coats on upper and 3 coats in the tub area). then follow it up with tile. My concern is prepping the brick with lime first to be sure the weldcrete bonds first and foremost to the brick. Any advice recommended. Semco said to just clean with their preparation then apply semco directly but I worry it will not bond to it?
