Where do I start?

I'm starting to get really big into theater and musical theater. Im super interested, but there seems to be a mountain of things I need to watch if I want to understand peoples references. Where should I start? I've already seen Hamilton, Heather's, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I've listened to Epic, Hadestown, and Be More Chill (it is my understanding that Be More Chill is very much the punching bag of the musical theater space). Where should I go from here to really immerse myself in the culture?

I'm a high school theater student, and I love theatre, but im a bit confused about how you continue with being in theater after high school. Especially in more rural places that might not have a local troupe.

I just went to my first renfaire ever yesterday and had one of the greatest times of my life, but I was wondering how can I make better costumes for myself? Everyone had such amazing and awesome costumes, and I feel like I'm kinda ruining it by not having one. Are costumes always super expensive? Is there a way to make a cool costume without selling my car?
