SG male, 41, SGD 282K take-home — portfolio check-in, would love community feedback
Quick background
Singapore male, 41. Heading a local commodities trading firm. Take-home SGD 282K/year (SGD 23,200/month after CPF). Married with one kid (3.5 years old). Planning to upgrade from HDB to private condo within the next 12 months.
Goal: Financial independence by age 55–60, targeting SGD 250–300K/year in passive income. Working toward a SGD 6.25M investable portfolio
True net worth: SGD 2.44M (full balance sheet including HDB, CPF, minus all liabilities)
Investable portfolio: SGD 1.32M (excludes HDB equity and CPF — what I actually model FI against)
I've attached a visual but here's the summary:
Assets
- HDB (est. market value): SGD 1.05M
- CPF (OA + SA + MA): SGD 255K
- Cash & reserves: SGD 437K (includes SGD 150K emergency buffer, SGD 120K deployable idle cash)
- Global equities via IBKR: SGD ~519K — core is VWRA 49.6% of this bucket), then QQQM, GLD, NVDA, AAPL, TSLA, MSFT, EIMI. DCA of USD 2,700/month ongoing.
- SG equities via Kay Hian: SGD 189K — DBS, OCBC, Ascendas REIT, Keppel DC REIT, ES3, UOB, ParkwayLife, CICT, Frasers.
- Crypto: SGD 102K — 91.9% in BTC
- Illiquid/alternatives: SGD 368K — SGD 200K private loan at 5.5% p.a. (expecting repayment in 2–3 months), SGD 168K in a St James investment fund.
Liabilities
- HDB housing loan: SGD 362K (matures 2043)
- Car loan: SGD 65K
- CC instalments: SGD 31K (~SGD 2,918/month, clearing within 12 months). Interest free CC payments.
What I'm currently doing
- Monthly DCA: USD 2,700 into VWRA (USD 2,100) + EIMI (USD 400) + NVDA (USD 200) via IBKR.
- No new SGX positions — managing existing portfolio opportunistically. Not sure if i should add on here?
- ETH and SOL earmarked for liquidation (haven't executed)
Any feedback on the overall structure, allocation, or strategy is welcome
