Every time I read one of these studies about phones wrecking focus and behavior at school, I think about all the "just embrace it" talk around chatbots. We were told phones would help kids stay connected and engaged too. Now half my job is trying to rebuild attention span. (I'm a middle school English teacher in a pretty tech-happy district, for context.)

So no, I am not hyped about another tool built on instant gratification and shortcut thinking. I already have students who'd rather get a polished paragraph in 3 seconds than struggle through a rough draft and actually learn something. I know it's not exactly the same thing, but the pattern feels pretty familiar. Adults hand kids convenience tech, call it innovation, and then teachers get to deal with the fallout.
